The story of Amanda & Christian meeting is a true tale of the luck of the Irish – aside from the fact that it is a union of a Jewish woman & an Italian man, of course.

Picture the most crowded pub, in Dublin, on Temple Bar (the Greenwich Village of Dublin) on St. Patrick’s day – this was the scene of Amanda & Christian meeting for the first time.

While who approached who is still a heavily debated conversation between them, what is undeniable is how quickly the sparked flared. They began talking while ordering a Guinness or Jameson (the only things people drink in Ireland) & before long, shared their first kiss in a secluded area of Fitzsimmons bar away from the celebrations surrounding them.

As a gentleman, Christian invited Amanda to watch the March Madness tournament with his friends at a nearby bar & she graciously accepted. However, in the transition to this get-together, Amanda felt it best to run away from Christian & escape into the evening!

While disappointed at first, Christian felt a special connection to this adorable, brunette girl from New Jersey with the big brown eyes – he had to find out who this girl of a fleeting moment was.

Upon returning to Florence (where he was studying abroad for the semester), Christian used his persistence (& the wonderfully applicable tools of Facebook search/Jewish geography) to find out who Amanda truly was. To his delight, she too was studying abroad in Florence – that night, at Space Nightclub (a mainstay of Florence, big ten abroad nightlife), Christian found Amanda – the rest is history.

They began hanging out for the remainder of abroad & their love for each other began to grow. Given their summer internships however, the two split up for the summer with Amanda working in NYC & Christian in Greenwich, CT.

Their connection was too strong to simply fizzle out. That fall, while Amanda was a senior at Indiana University & Christian at the University of Michigan, they restarted their relationship, this time in long-distance fashion. After many trips to Bloomington & Ann Arbor throughout senior year (with stops at Roys, Skeeps, & “the jungle” along the way), Amanda & Christian officially began dating in February 2018.

After graduating, beginning their careers, & moving several times in the beloved Murray Hill area of NYC, Amanda & Christian decided upon the Upper West Side as the first place where they would together call home.

While moving in together was a test of patience (mainly Christian testing Amanda’s patience), their relationship grew stronger & more intense than ever.

In September 2023, 2 years after moving in together, Amanda & Christian got engaged & their future together, solidified (also why you are here reading this story).

They are so incredibly excited to be sharing their special day with you in April 2025 in Amanda’s home state (where the official mascots are taylor ham, industrial smoke/sewage, & their mutually favorite show, The Sopranos).
